ALM CONTRACTS (ESSEX) LIMITED – TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
QUALITY STANDARDS.
All works are to be designed and installed in accordance with the latest edition of the IET wiring
regulations BS7671.
Where relevant, works will be installed and notified in accordance with part P regulations.
On completion we will issue all relevant certification for the works and notify building control if
relevant.
GURANTEE.
ALM Contracts (Essex) Limited will guarantee all work carried out for a 12 month period from completion.
Works must not be altered in any way and any relevant maintenance plan put in place must have
been adhered to.
Materials and components are subject to the manufacturers warranty after this period.
This guarantee will not be offered where materials have not been supplied directly by ALM Contracts (Essex) Limited
All workmanship is protected by the NICEIC 6 year insurance backed warranty, details of which can

COMPLAINTS.
If you are not totally satisfied with any work carried out we request that you approach us with the
details, and we will do everything we can to rectify the issue. Our reputation is extremely important to us .
If we could not resolve the issue, then NICEIC will provide an impartial ombudsman service which
can be found here.
DISRUPTION.
During the course of works it may be necessary to disrupt the power supply to the property or
building.
Temporary access may be required by removing carpets and flooring, accessing loft or void spaces.
Wiring may need to be installed into the fabric of the building by chasing or containment systems
fitted to the surface of the wall.
Temporary protection will be provided to areas where our engineers are working, and areas will be
cleaned on completion, although our engineers cannot provide a deep clean service, dust can travel
during works and may need further cleaning by client.
These options will be advised and discussed prior to works commencing.
DAMAGE.
ALM Contracts (Essex) Limited will take every care to avoid damage during the execution of works, however,
dependent on the age of the property and the type of work contracted it is possible that some slight
damage may be inevitable, i.e., cracking or breaking of dried floorboards, cracks to plaster near
channelling, carpets not refitting tightly. We cannot be held responsible for repairs to such damage.
PRIOR TO WORK COMENCING.
Please make sure that all rooms, cupboards, voids, and loft spaces where our engineers will be
working are cleared from all property prior to their arrival. Time spent clearing these areas by our
engineers is chargeable at our hourly rate.
Any valuable or fragile items not removed by the client prior to works commencing are left at the
owners risk and no responsibility can be taken by ALM Contracts (Essex) Limited or it engineers.
PARKING.
Please ensure that there is adequate parking available in close proximity to the job. It will be
expected that permits and spaces are made available for at least one van unless stated otherwise.
Any parking fees, parking fines or additional time incurred trying to park and move vans will be
added to the final bill.
PAYMENT.
ALM Contracts (Essex) Limited will require deposits to be paid on all jobs of between 10% and 100%
depending on the job type and material order required. Once the deposit is paid works will be
booked into the diary.
For small jobs under 3 consecutive days, full payment is due on the day of completion.
Larger jobs will have a payment plan set out and agreed by all parties prior to works commencing.
The next phase will not start until the previous phase has been paid in full.
Payment should be made by BACS. Cards can be accepted in some circumstances with prior
arrangement.
All certification and paperwork will be released to the client once the full balance has cleared.
All materials including fittings, cables and any other components supplied by us will remain the
property of ALM Contracts (Essex) Limited until the balance has been paid in full.
ALM Contracts (Essex) Limited reserve the right to charge interest on all overdue invoices. Interest will be calculated daily at the Bank of England interest rate plus 8%.
WORKING PRACTICES.
1. Additional works (that is, those not specifically noted in this quotation) will be subject to
charges at our normal rate of £60 per hour.
2. Any changes to works schedule once work has started will be agreed in writing or email with client prior.
Larger & costlier alterations will have details and costs entered into a contract variation order and signed by client prior.
3. All fittings remain the property of ALM Contracts (Essex) Limited until full and final payment is
received.
4. All fittings and components provided as white plastic conforming to the relevant British
standards (unless otherwise stated).
Where making good is included within the quote, ALM Electrical Limited will make good to a
bonding coat finish only. This will require a smooth coat once dry.
5. ALM Contracts (Essex) Limited will provide materials and labour unless otherwise stated.
6. ALM Contracts (Essex) Limited will have access to the property on the days agreed. The job duration
quoted assumes vacant access and the absence of delays or disruptions by other trades. Any
delays due to disruption or impeded access may result in additional charges.
7. ALM Contracts (Essex) Limited will not be responsible for waste removal. Waste will be bagged and
left on site.
